Chester, CA 9-26-19 . . . The first meeting to discuss developing a Town Plaza for Chester, co-hosted by Chester/Lake Almanor Basin Chamber of Commerce and Brenda Lemons, owner of the Coffee Station, met Wednesday with civic leaders, business owners and interested citizens attending and supporting the efforts.
“It was exciting to see the community come together in support of a town plaza that has the capability of offering programs and activities to the greater Chester and Lake Almanor area,” says Susan Bryner, president of the chamber. “It seems with the show of excitement and cooperative spirit, the time is right to begin creating a focal point for the town, area residents and tourists.” Covered on the agenda was research of location, funding, programs and activities and maintenance. Attendees offered numerous ideas and suggestions to help make the plaza a success and asset to Chester; and bring growth, tourism and a sense of community to our town. For those interested in participating, the next meeting will be on October 16 from 8:30 to 10:00 at the Coffee Station.
