By Jerri Nielson, As Published in the Chester Progressive Fall is definitely in the air in the Lake Almanor Area! Nights are getting cooler, the apple trees are heavily laden with fruit, deciduous foliage is just starting to hint at changing color, and days are the perfect temperature for hiking.
The Chamber Board has been busily preparing for our 3rd upcoming Town Talks event of this year, sponsored by the Giggling Crow, Chester Progressive, and your Chamber. It will be held on Wednesday, September 26 in the Rainbow Village Parking Lot in Old Town Chester. Come join us for appetizers, no-host beverages, and music, plus the opportunity to hear from our local organizations about recent and upcoming activities. If you’re thinking about visiting the Lake Almanor Area, now is a great time to plan a trip! Mid September through October is peak season for fall colors. There’s no need to take a trip back East when Plumas County has some of the most colorful foliage around. For up-to-date information about where to find fall color, be sure to follow the “Awesome Autumn in Plumas County” Facebook page hosted by the Plumas County Tourism, Recreation & Hospitality Council.
